ABOUT ME

“A picture is worth a thousand words.”

While that may be true, for every thousand words spoken by a picture, albeit there’s twice as many left unspoken. With the rise of social media, we are a generation well known yet simultaneously very unknown. Despite our better judgment, we hold tightly to whatever perception we have created through the lens of our own experiences filtered by our deepest yearning. Just like the filters we put on our pictures, the image we conjure up in our minds, while representing a real moment in our lives, mask the rest of the reality…

I’m Ivy, wife to Edison and mom of Jesse Psalm, my rainbow baby after losing my first baby during pregnancy.

To me, social media is like a photo album- a place to store and share life’s memorable moments. Not every moment is captured, and not every picture makes it on there. However, those moments that do make the cut, usually have a story worth telling. Here on this blog, is where the stories behind the pictures are told. The 20,000 words that the picture doesn’t tell.

I blog primarily to document it for myself, secondarily to shed more light about my thought process to interested family and friends, and lastly I share to provide readers an another perspective to consider in their decision making.

With that said, please know that my blog has only one aim- to glorify God. My blog’s aim isn’t different from my life’s overarching aim. That’s all there is to my blog in a nutshell. One Wife’s Pilgrimage is so-called for a reason. It’s a documentary of my pilgrimage as a disciple of Jesus who is married and how God uses my marriage (and everything it entails such as motherhood) to conform me into Christlikeness. This is the heartbeat of every single post I write and I implore all readers to read my posts from this perspective.

Thanks again for stopping by, pray you’re blessed.
